I loved that river highway drive—
It made me glad I was alive.
The mighty river—dams, of course—
The mountains—nature: vital force!
The Dalles had fishermen with nets—
A site no tourist e’er forgets.
Mt. Hood still looms, not far away—
I’d love to be right there—today.
