40: Oregon Coast; various years throughout
my life
Oh, I was but a little one
When we first went to Oregon.
My dad was born and raised out there*—
So back we drove in summer air.
Both Mom and Dad just loved the coast—
And hard to say what they loved most:
The ocean? Beaches? Mountains near?
They loved it all—and that is clear.
For they retired in Cannon Beach—
A distant place for us to reach,
But we drove out from time to time
To walk, to talk, to love, to climb.
