ZooWeird 8

A doggerel series about odd or little-known animals.

Blanket Octopus is the common name used for the currently 4 described species of the Tremoctopus genus. Blanket octopuses live throughout the world's tropical and sub-tropical oceans, occurring from the surface to moderate depths.

The blanket octopus floats flat—
He’s wise—and knows just where it’s at.
He is a groovy, subtle cat.

It's true: His tentacles are weird—
Perhaps they oughtn’t to be feared?
But when the other creatures jeered,

Well, he just floated where he was
And wasn’t hurt—and all because
A blanket does just what it does.

It makes you comfy, sleepy too.
And then he’ll do what he must do:
Consume you quickly—instant stew!
