about the countries of the world.
Uganda.
They’ve had some times when all was mean—
You know those times … recall
Amin?
But he’s now gone (more ways
than one)—
So are things better in their
sun?
There still are wonders, far and
wide.
That lake (Victoria)—such pride
To have—a lake immense like
that?
(Our Erie, though? No copycat!)
And there gorillas struggle on—
Some worry they will soon be
gone.
They export coffee—and some oil.
Some sugar beans (that stuff can
spoil!).
There is a lot of poverty—
So patent for all eyes to see.
What will it take for them to
thrive?
To keep themselves and hope
alive?
That is a question all must ask—
It is, of course, their crucial
task.
