School
Daze: scolionimania
He
sometimes felt he was a fool—
Despite
the years he’d spent in school.
You see,
he thought that it was cool
To stay
enrolled from year to year.
He got a
master’s (give a cheer!).
A Ph.D.—a
new career?
But then a
frown formed on his face:
He missed, you see, the paper chase.
He missed, you see, the paper chase.
So back he
went (yes!) just in case.
The years
rolled on; he earned with ease
A massive
pile—advanced degrees—
And unpaid
loans (so many fees!).
But now
he’s gone—he wears his pall.
His
gravestone font is very small
(To list
degrees, yes, one and all!).
