Wordbirds, 76

AT LAST—We’ve now commenced our third—and final—journey through Webster’s 3rd. This time, I’m picking a word near the middle of each entry for each letter—a word that interests me for some reason or a word I’d not ever known before—and surrounding it with a frayed coat of doggerel.

Words that flew into my life from Webster’s 3rd.

whiskery adj.
having or resembling whiskers

She loved the dude so very much—
Oh, love’s a mystery.
Her only reservation was—
He seemed so whiskery.

She said, “Oh, Samson, won’t you shave?
I’ll like it very much,”
And Samson said, “Of course I will—
Don’t care ’bout hair and such.”

And so he shaved; he cut his hair—
An acquiescent kind
But you, of course, well know his fate:
Yes, hairless, very blind.

It's Moral Time! What can we say
About demands of love?
Be careful what you cut away;
And what you're thinking of.
